Today, Shannon is a storytelling and marketing coach for business owners who, she says, "have been put on this earth to shake shit up, speak their truth and start a revolution."

HOW TO GET MOVING AFTER YEARS OF BEING STUCK

Shannon Whaley wants to dispel some myths about what it’s really like when you take the leap to finally “go after your dreams.”

For her, the idea of taking a big leap and shake up her life was so terrifying it sent her to the emergency room – more than once.

She knew she had to break from the party girl lifestyle she’d fallen into in Seattle, Washington, but her fears kept her stuck for years.

In this interview, we talk about how Shannon finally managed to conquer those fears and move to the Cayman Islands, where she realized that she’d have to get sober or she’d never get where she wanted to go.

Her journey of self-discovery had many unexpected turns. Eventually it led her to her life today, living in Lucca, Italy, with her fiancé and a couple of kittens, running her own online business as a coach. It’s the life she dreamed of, and she still can’t believe she’s getting away with it.

3 QUESTIONS I ASK EVERY GUEST

1. What do you wish you had known before you took your leap?

2. What was the most unexpected thing that came of your leap?

3. For someone who is thinking of doing something similar, what one piece of advice would you offer?
